Rates & Billing Matters

STANDARD RATES

Mediations or arbitrations are billed at the following hourly rates:

  • 2–4 parties: $595/hour

  • 5–9 parties: $795/hour

  • 10 or more parties: $975/hour

A “party” is defined as all individuals represented by the same attorney. The hourly fee includes time spent in session, as well as preparation, review of submissions, communications with counsel, and post-mediation follow-up. Fees are divided equally among the parties unless otherwise agreed in advance.

MINIMUM FEES

There is no formal minimum charge or hourly requirement. Time spent on all mediation-related activities — including pre-session preparation, phone conferences, and follow-up — is billable. Travel time is not billed.

PAYMENT POLICY

Invoices are issued at the conclusion of the mediation and are due upon receipt. Fees are calculated using the applicable hourly rate and split evenly between the parties, unless otherwise agreed.

All billing is directed to counsel of record. Payment responsibility rests with the attorney, not the client.

Out-of-pocket travel expenses — including airfare, hotel, rental car, and meals — are billed at cost and shared equally unless other arrangements are made.

CANCELLATION POLICY

There is no fee for canceling or rescheduling a mediation, regardless of the reason.

VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON OPTIONS

Mediation and arbitration services are available both virtually and in person. Virtual sessions are typically conducted via Zoom and are supported with advance coordination and secure links. In-person sessions are available upon request and may be subject to out-of-pocket travel expenses, which are billed at cost and shared equally among the parties.

About

Beth-Ann Schulman

I’ve spent nearly three decades practicing law, much of it deep in the trenches of complex construction and commercial litigation. Today, I bring that experience to the table as a full-time neutral — helping parties navigate conflict with clarity, structure, and a strong sense of purpose.

As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Certified Appellate Mediator, Qualified Arbitrator, and Board-Certified Construction Lawyer, I’ve devoted my career to resolving high-stakes disputes with professionalism and practicality. My mediation practice is focused on construction defect claims, insurance coverage and indemnity issues, and commercial contract matters — areas I’ve spent decades litigating from every angle.

Before stepping into mediation full time, I led the Construction Law Group at Boyd & Jenerette and represented contractors, developers, insurers, and design professionals across Florida. That experience, paired with my earlier career as a CPA, allows me to bring a financially grounded, business-minded perspective to each case I handle.

My approach is thoughtful and direct: I work hard to prepare, listen carefully to the personalities in the room, and help the parties identify what’s truly driving the dispute. I’m not there to impose solutions — but I do believe in creating space for resolution to take root.

I’m proud to serve on the Construction Panel of the American Arbitration Association, and grateful for the trust placed in me by attorneys and clients who value both diligence and neutrality. Whether working virtually or in person, my focus remains the same: helping people move forward with clarity and confidence.

I’ve also been honored to receive peer recognition throughout my career, including listing in Best Lawyers in America® for Construction Law and Litigation, an AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and inclusion in Florida Legal Elite — distinctions that reflect my longstanding commitment to excellence in legal practice and dispute resolution.
